Profile: Alexander GannonĀ
Alexander Gannon, a graduate student at the University of Florida, earned a B.S in Biology in 2016. He is currently enrolled in the Doctor of Plant Medicine (DPM) program and plans on dual enrolling in the M.S program in Entomology.
While studying for his B.S, Alexander worked on salmonella and tomatoes for two years in the UF Soils and Water Science Department. His interest in furthering his education increased after experiencing hands-on research, in which he learned about different lab techniques. In addition, he was able to assist with research proposals. After attending a UF CALS career fair and learning about the Plant Medicine program, he applied and was accepted into the program. He subsequently was accepted for an assistantship with Dr. Norman Leppla.
He joined IPM Florida in Fall 2016. He plans on assisting and researching IPM issues to enhance his knowledge of real world issues. Alexander is currently assisting Dr. Leppla with grant proposals, incomplete projects, and upcoming IPM projects.
