Commercial Landscape
Thanks to Extension education programs in 45 counties, landscape professionals have increased their use of best management practices to protect the environment. For example, 224 participants in Orange County adopted integrated pest management (IPM) techniques. A survey by the IFAS Mid-Florida Research and Education Center indicated 76 percent of responding landscape professionals are using 15 of the 19 recommended practices on a total of 991 properties equaling 752,423 acres in Central Florida.
