Vegetables
Pest Alert and the South Florida Vegetable Pest and Disease Hotline provide immediate information to producers about pests in the state. Growers say the Extension tools are invaluable, providing information about new or existing pests that could be catastrophic to agronomic, vegetable, fruit and ornamental crops. The hotline, which includes information from Extension faculty and 32 collaborators, reports insect and disease problems on more than 120,000 acres of South Florida vegetables. The hotline is used by more than 1,200 subscribers as well as Extension agents and other businesses in Florida and the nation.
